An Afternoon of Praise Syria & Turkey Fundraiser

The middle of February 2023 saw a devastating earthquake tear through parts of Turkey and Syria. The aftermath saw the world rally to find survivors and look after those that had lost everything. The effects have been truly devastating and life changing for many who continue to live on the edge following this tragedy.

In an effort to do our part, Saeed Institute held a gathering and fundraiser at Sharples Leisure Centre on the 19th of February 2023. The Burdah was recited at the event, as well as the Poem of Relief that is traditionally read during times of tribulation. The event was ticketed, and we had a successful raffle as well as food sales and other stalls. The venue was sponsored by local business, Dental Design studio, and several other individuals also donated to the cause. The final proceeds came to approximately £5000 which was donated to the relief efforts taking place in Syria following the earthquake. We pray Allah accepts everyone’s efforts and inspires us to do better.
