Shaykh Siddiq Mitha
Founder & Director
Siddiq Mitha comes from Bolton in the north-west of England where he went through the traditional madrasa system and developed an initial thirst for studying Islam. His enthusiasm and abilities were well noted by teachers and peers alike. Later as an adult, Siddiq left Bolton and went to study medicine at the University of Liverpool. Here, he was active in the Islamic Society and through his role as president, he organised lessons and events for the Muslim student polity. He met inspiring teachers who further ignited his thirst for knowledge, and after completing medical school and the subsequent training, he decided to answer his heart’s call and follow his lifelong passion for studying and teaching the sacred sciences. He has since spent several years studying in Amman, Jordan. During this time, he has studied the Arabic language, ʿaqida (creed), mantiq (logic), hadith sciences, tasawwuf (Sufism) and graduated with a BA in Hanafi fiqh and usul under the tutelage and guidance of Dr Salah Abul-Hajj at the College of Ḥanafi Fiqh at the World Islamic Sciences and Education University. In addition, some of his other teachers include Shaykh ʿAlī Zayno, Shaykh Ahmad al-Hasanāt, Shaykh ʿAbdul-Rahman al-Shaʿʿar, Shaykh ʿAlī Hanī, Shaykh Ismaʿīl al-Kurdi, Shaykh Muhammad Nur al-Sabirin, Shaykh Muʿadh Hawwa, Shaykh Mahmud al-Shurbaji, Dr Muhammad al-Najjar and Mufti Firas Shahin. Siddiq is the official representative of Shaykh Ismail al-Kurdi in the UK and was blessed to receive an ijaza by Shaykh Ismail to teach the Islamic sciences, to dictate the litany of the Shadhili order and initiate seekers on the path.
He currently resides with his family in Bolton, UK, where he teaches for Saeed Institute and continues to research, write, and contribute to the corpus of Islamic literature in the English speaking world.
