ONSITE | The Relied upon Position within the Hanafi School (Al-Mutamad al-Fiqhi inda al-Hanafiyya) | Three-Day Intensive with Dr Salāh Abul Hāj
This course is designed to provide students with the theoretical foundation needed to identify the authoritative positions (al-qawl al-mu'tamad) within the Hanafi school of thought. Through this study, participants will gain a deeper understanding of the various levels of jurists in the school and the nuanced methodology that distinguishes their legal reasoning.
A key component of the course is the practical application of these principles through an in-depth analysis of Al-Ikhtiyar, a seminal work in Hanafi jurisprudence. Students will explore instances where the text deviates from the official positions of the school and evaluate the ijtihad level of its author, Al-Mawsili. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with the tools to critically engage with classical Hanafi texts and understand the reasoning behind their conclusions.
