Muqaddimat al-Salah (An Introduction to Prayer) - Short Course
Through this short course, Shaykh Siddiq Mitha will be teaching the ninth-century Ḥanafī scholar Lutf Allah al-Nasafi al-Kaydani’s indispensable and extremely important book: An Introduction to Prayer, or the Muqaddimat al-Salah. This text is a well-known and oft-studied primer in the rules of prayer according to the Hanafi school of law. Its brevity and organised structure gives the student an excellent overview of some of the most important rulings regarding the prayer.
In this short course, over 3 sessions, we will be critically studying the whole of the text. Upon successful completion students will be granted an ijaza to teach the text.
Learning Outcomes
· A general understanding of the categorisation of legal rulings in the Hanafi School
· Learn the obligatory, necessary, sunna, permissible, disliked. unlawful and nullifying agents of prayer
· Learn how to navigate traditional short works in the Hanafi School
· Gain a thorough understanding on certain rulings like the raising the finger in Tashahhud and the like.
· Be confident with the major rulings of prayer according to the methodology of the Hanafi School.
